5/5/05*Taffy had her foal tonight...all
by herself! We all missed it! (even with all those barn cams) We did get out there just in time to see him standing for the
first time. He is very cute!
04/10/05 * Strawberry had her
foal tonight at 10:40pm! It was a colt and it looks like he is going to be a palomino! He is very cute!! We will
be posting pictures on our "New Foal Pictures" page.
03/20/05 * We finally got our
barn cams up in Strawberry's stall and will have Taffy's up in a week or two! Thank you to Ric of www.wefoal.com for the HOURS of help getting us here! Sorry for keeping
you up all night! :-) And thank you to Scott and Christopher for the late nights installing everything! Now we
just wait for the babies!!
02/28/05 * This weekend we rebuilt
our ranch "ZOO" pen. Mariam started it on her own but it was such a huge project that our good friend Christopher who
was working on our ranch electrical projects, stepped in and really helped it turn out perfect!!! Now the lamb, goat,
pig and rabbit have much more room and they love it!! And, it is so beautiful!!! Thank you Christopher!
And thank you to Julie for the help in painting!
01/21/05 * This weekend, our
wonderful family once again came to our rescue! In two days, we built our brand new foaling pens which are gorgeous!
They are 16 x 24 and will have an attached turnout that is 16 x 24 too. We also added two new enclosed stalls right next to
the foaling pens for the mares buddies. Sometime around the middle of March, we will be installing barn cams and the
births of these 2 foals can be viewed live online so check back then!!
Thanks again to Trevor, Tawnya, Andy, Traci
Tory & John!!!
And Thanks also to:
Debbie, Brittany, Julie, Caitlynn, &
Elizabeth for helping paint ALL of the wood siding for the barn!
12/18/04 * We had our 2nd annual boarder Christmas party and it was so much fun!! Everyone
brought great food to share, we did an ornament exchange and played some fun games! One of the games we played we called
"Name the Changes". Since we have worked really hard to change so many things over the last year, we wanted to see how
many people could name. Tricia won, naming 52 changes! Not bad for a years work.
11/28/04 * Scotts family was here for the holiday and once again put in lots of work!
We have put some partial dividers between the stalls so that the shavings and bedding everyone puts in, stays
in. They look very nice. We also put up our new quarantine/medical pens. They are 12 x 12 fully enclosed
box stalls and are wonderful! These were not in our original plans as the foaling pens were going to double as the medical
pens...so this is a nice addition. We now hope to make this area our vets work area and will be trying to improve upon
that over the next year.
11/8/04 * Last weekend
was our one year anniversary at the ranch and we had a "Harvest Fest" with all of our boarders. It was a really fun
party with pumpkin carving, bobbing for apples, and lots of bingo!! Watch for some of the pictures in the photo
gallery!
10/23/04 * This was a busy weekend!! Scotts Mom & Dad came up and helped us get
so much done. My personal favorite project was the turnout arena to a full 70' X 60' so it is a great riding /
lunging size now.
10/12/04 * Our new tack room was put in today! It should be complete and ready to use
by the beginning of next week!
10/09/04 * Our new hay barn is
up and it is beautiful!! Thank you so much to our family for coming and helping us put this up (Tawnya & Trevor,
Traci & Andy) and to one of our boarders (Ian) who jumped right in to help as well!
10/02/04 * The boarder tack room has been officially outgrown! So, a new one will go in
the end of this month.
10/01/04 * We will be starting on our new hay barn next week, however, we need to take down
two buildings to put it up so it may get messy...YIKES! Beware of CONSTRUCTION! ha ha
09/21/04 * Scott got his own
horse this month! His name is Shadow and we will get to use him for lessons when Scott is on duty...he is an awesome
horse and very sweet!! (check the lesson page for pictures!!)
